Seahawks Take Part in Breast Cancer Awareness MonthIn honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Seattle Seahawks will be selling pink ribbon pins for $5 at the Seahawks Pro Shop, located at Qwest Field. Proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. On October 7, the Seahawks and First and Goal Inc. staff participated in Lee National Denim Day. In exchange for a $5 donation, employees received a pink ribbon and the right to wear jeans to work that day. All money raised will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Since 1996, more than $52 million has been raised through Denim Day by corporations, schools and groups across the United States . For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working through a network of U.S. and international Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure, the Komen Foundation is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world. |
